At Repland, we assess the unit before deciding which cleaning steps are appropriate.
1. AC Unit Inspection
We inspect the AC unit and surrounding area to understand its condition.
The inspection may include checking:
- Filters
- Indoor coil
- Blower area
- Drain tray
- Drain outlet
- Grilles
- Visible dust or residue
- Signs of water leakage
- General accessibility
If we identify an issue that appears to require repair rather than cleaning, we can advise the customer accordingly.
2. Protection of the Working Area
Before opening the AC unit, the surrounding area is protected where required.
Protective sheets can be used around:
- Walls
- Flooring
- Furniture
- Cabinets
- Work areas
This helps contain water and cleaning residue during the cleaning process.
3. Filter Cleaning
The AC filters are removed and cleaned to remove accumulated dust and surface dirt.
After cleaning, the filters are dried appropriately before being refitted.
4. Evaporator Coil Cleaning
The indoor evaporator coil is one of the important components involved in heat transfer.
Dust and residue can accumulate between the fins and affect the cleanliness of the unit.
Depending on the AC type and condition, suitable cleaning methods and products are used to clean the accessible coil surface while taking care around the fins and surrounding components.
5. Blower & Fan Area Cleaning
The blower area can collect dust and residue because air passes through it continuously.
We clean the accessible blower and fan area as part of the deep-cleaning process according to the AC design.
A more extensive dismantling process may be required for some units, depending on accessibility and condition.
6. Drain Tray Cleaning
The drain tray collects condensation from the indoor AC unit.
Dirt and residue can accumulate inside the tray over time.
The drain tray is cleaned and checked as part of the deep-cleaning process where accessible.
7. Drain Line Flushing
Where accessible, the condensate drain line can be flushed to help remove suitable buildup.
If a drain line is severely blocked or damaged, additional maintenance or repair may be required.
8. Grille & Cover Cleaning
AC grilles, covers and accessible air outlets are cleaned to remove dust and surface buildup.
This helps improve the overall cleanliness and appearance of the AC unit.
9. Sanitization
Where appropriate, a suitable sanitization treatment can be applied to accessible cleaned components.
The type of treatment depends on the AC system, surface condition and cleaning requirements.
10. Reassembly & Final Check
After cleaning, the AC components are reassembled correctly.
The system is then switched on and checked for normal operation, airflow and visible issues.
